Džoana „Džo” Mari (devojačko Rouling, engl. Joanne "Jo" Murray, Rowling; Bristol, 31. jul 1965), poznatija pod spisateljskim imenom Džej-Kej Rouling (engl. J. K. Rowling), engleska je književnica najpoznatija kao autorka serije knjiga o Hariju Poteru.

Biografija
urediNakon diplome na Univerzitetu u Eksteru (engl. University of Exeter) 1989. godine počinje da radi za Amnesti internašonal (engl. Amnesty International) u Londonu, gde počinje sa pisanjem avantura Harija Potera. Početkom devedesetih putuje u Portugal gde daje časove engleskog jezika za strance, ali se nakon kratkog braka i rođenja kćeri vraća se u Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo i nastanjuje se u Edinburgu. Živeći od socijalne pomoći, uz davanje privatnih časova, nastavila je s pisanjem.
Hari Poter
urediNjena prva knjiga u seriji, Hari Poter i Kamen mudrosti (1997), ostvarila je izvanredan uspeh, obraćajući se istovremeno deci (ciljanoj publici) i odraslima. Živim opisma i maštovitom okosnicom priče, predstavlja avanture neočekivanog heroja Harija Potera, usamljenog siročića koji otkriva da je u stvari čarobnjak, i pravljuje se u Hogvartsovu školu čarobnjaštva i magije. Knjiga je osvojila mnoge nagrade, uključujući Britiš buk avard.
Slede nastavci: Dvorana tajni, Zatvorenik iz Askabana, Vatreni pehar, Red feniksa, Polukrvni princ, Relikvije smrti, Ukleto dete — takođe bestseleri, izdani u više od 200 zemalja i prevedeni na preko 60 jezika. U 2001. godini su objavljeni Fantastične zveri i gde ih naći i Kvidič kroz vekove, sa prihodima namenjenim u dobrotvorne svrhe. Serija je zaista potakla entuzijazam među decom i zaslužna je za stvaranje novog zanimanja za čitanjem. Filmska verzija prvog nastavka snimljena je 2001. godine i postala jedan od najgledanijih filmova na svetu. Ostali nastavci su takođe vrlo uspešno ekranizovani. U martu 2001. godine, Roulingovoj je dodeljena titula OBE (engl. Officer of the Order of the British Empire, Oficir Ordena Britanskog carstva ).
Kasniji rad
urediPrvu knjigu posle Hari Poter serijala Roulingova je objavila u septembru 2012. godine. To je bio roman za odrasle Upražnjeno mesto. Veoma uspešno je prodavan u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu, gde ga je za tri nedelje kupilo milion ljudi.[1] U Srbiji, roman je objavila izdavačka kuća Evro-đunti, a prevodioci su bili Vesna i Draško Roganović, koji su preveli i knjige o Hariju Poteru. Upražnjeno mesto je bila najprodavanija knjiga na Beogradskom sajmu knjiga 2012.[1][2] Uprkos velikom komercijalnom uspehu, roman je dobio mešovite kritike.[3][4]
Sledeća knjiga koju je Roulingova napisala bila je kriminalistički roman Zov kukavice. Objavila ju je u aprilu 2013, pod pseudonimom Robert Galbrejt.[5] Da je ona pravi autor otkrilo se tek u julu iste godine.[6] Zov kukavice je prvi deo serijala, koji će spisateljica nastaviti da objavljuje pod pseudonimom.[7]
Roulingova je 2016. godine napisala i prvi filmski scenario za film Fantastične zveri i gde ih naći. Napisala je scenario i za nastavke Fantastične zveri: Grindelvaldovi zločini (2018) i Fantastične zveri: Tajne Dambldora (2022).
