Mojsije Majmonid (hebrejski: Moše ben Majmon (hebr. משה בן מימון), arapski: Musa Ben Mejmun (arap. موسى بن ميمون‎), latinizovano: Maimonides) (1135 - 13. decembar 1204) je bio srednjovekovni jevrejski filozof, teolog, matematičar, astronom i lekar.

Biografija

Mijsije Majmonid je rođen u Kordobi 1135. godine.^[4]^[5]^[6] Iz rodne Španije beži zbog verskih progona u Maroko i Egipat, gde je u Kairu držao predavanja iz filozofije, teologije i medicine, i bio lični Saladinov lekar na egipatskom dvoru.^[7]^[8]^[9]^[10]^[11] Sastavio je svojevrsnu „Hipokratovu zakletvu“ svoga vremena, odnosno „Molitvu jednog lekara iz 12. veka“.^[12]

Preminuo je 1204. godine.

Dela

Napisao je više astronomskih i matematičkih rasprava i 18 medicinskih traktata s teorijama znatno ispred vremena u kojem je živeo.^[13] Dela je pisao na arapskom, a najvažnija su:

„Svetlost“ i
„Vodič zbunjenima“

Učenje

Majmonidesova etika se zasniva na veri u slobodu čovečije volje i njegovo delanje. Smatrao je Aristotela najvećim filozofom i nastojao veru dovesti u sklad s antičkom filozofijom. U najvažnijem filozofskom delu „Vodič zbunjenima“ pokušao je da zasnuje religiju na razumskim osnovama, što je izazvalo žestoku osudu ortodoksnih pristalica judaizma.
